Anti-social Behaviour
Signpost is committed to dealing effectively with anti-social
behaviour (ASB).
Anti-social behaviour can be any behaviour that causes
annoyance or distress to
neighbours, people in the locality, or the Association’s employees
and contractors. It can include any acts by tenants, their
partners, children, pets, or anyone else living in, or visiting the
property.
We believe that every resident has the
right to live peacefully in their home, free from the fear
of anti-social behaviour. Incidents of anti-social behaviour
will be taken seriously and all reported incidents will be assessed
and recorded. There may be incidents that we do not consider
to be anti-social behaviour, and in these circumstances the
Association could decide not to take any action except to give
advice to the complainant. If intervention is appropriate, we
will investigate, taking factors such as the frequency and severity
of incidents into account before deciding on the action necessary
to tackle the problem.
We have comprehensive policies and procedures in place for
dealing with anti-social behaviour, and have signed up to the
Respect Standard
for Housing Management.
Everyone signing a Signpost Housing Association tenancy
agreement knows they must act responsibly and ensure their children
and visitors do not cause any nuisance or anti-social
behaviour. The Association will always endeavour to work with
the Police and other agencies to resolve complaints.
