Boyce Court is a complex of 68 studio apartments owned by Signpost Homes Ltd and rented to keyworkers through an agreement with South Devon Healthcare Trust. Completed in Summer 2005 the scheme is located opposite Torbay Hospital on Newton Road. The hospital is a 5 minute walk. Public transport is easily accessible and there is a good range of amenities and leisure facilities in the immediate vicinity.

The apartments are arranged over 3 floors with lift to all floors. Each apartment has ensuite bathroom facilities with bath and shower over.

The studios are furnished and include washer dryer, fridge (with freezer compartment),electric hob, combination microwave oven and television. The living space is open plan with kitchen/ living room/ bedroom combined.

The apartments will be let to healthcare workers with the South Devon Health Care Trust. Where there are vacancies other key workers may be eligible. They will be let on an assured short hold tenancy initially for either 6 or 12 months. The weekly rent includes central heating, electricity and water. Tenants will be responsible for their own council tax, television licence, telephone bill and any television/internet subscription.

A deposit of 4 weeks rent will be required at the start of the tenancy and depending on when you move in the first part month’s rent must be paid in advance. Further payments of rent are collected by deductions from salary.

Deposits are payable to and held by the Deposit Protection Service. Limited on site parking is available. There will be an additional weekly charge for a parking space.

Applications

There are two routes for applying for accommodation:

1. NHS staff working at Torbay Hospital can apply for accommodation by downloading the NHS Nomination Form which should be completed and returned to the address on the bottom of the nomination form.

2. For all other key workers, who are not directly employed by NHS at Torbay Hospital they need to download and complete the Signpost Tenancy Application Form and return them to Jill Haughton, Housing Officer, Signpost Housing Association, Hawthorn House, Emperor Way, Exeter Business Park, Exeter EX1 3QS.
