Celebration Events
28 October 2009
On Wednesday 28 October, residents in Devon
who had taken part in activities through the year were invited to
celebrate their involvement at an event in Exeter at the Buckerell
Lodge hotel.
Kate Weeks gave a short presentation on some
of the work the organisation had been doing over the course of the
year and how residents had been influencing that work.
Winners of the Garden Competition were asked
to attend to collect their prizes and trophies and Forum members
came along to share in the celebration. Everyone enjoyed a
traditional cream tea before heading home.
Thanks again to everyone who was involved and
we look forward to seeing you again next year.
On the same day, residents in the east got
together to celebrate their involvement and collect their
competition prizes at a celebration lunch at the Olive Bowl in
Gillingham, North Dorset.
Altogether, over 100 residents attended the
events in Gillingham and Exeter and shared their achievements
whilst enjoying some delicious food and each other’s company. Many
of the garden competition participants were reacquainted for the
first time in over a year, and had plenty of news and tips to
share.
Thank you to everyone who attended and
congratulations to those of you who picked up a prize.
