Addison Close Estate Day
12 August 2009
The Addison Close Estate Day took place in
August and was a huge success. Housing Officer, Clive Wathen,
Signpost surveyor, Phil Townsend, and Community and Resident
Involvement Officer, Liz Baker chatted to a large number of
families on the estate, listened to residents and tried to resolve
some of their housing issues. Signpost staff were lucky enough to
be joined by staff and volunteers from Gillingham Children’s Centre
who organised a number of fun activities for children. The
Children’s Mobile Library, the Police and health visitors also
attended, and Signpost provided free fruit to residents as part of
a healthy eating information session by the Children’s
Centre. Daryl Lanchester of the Children’s Centre in
Gillingham said, “it has been a really good afternoon and we met
lots of families that we haven’t seen before who may come to the
Children’s Centre as a result. More importantly, all the children
appeared to have fun!”
