Stock Transfer Proposal - Update

As you will know from previous information on this site, Signpost Housing Association and Western Challenge Housing Association have been preparing to transfer a number of properties between them since the summer of 2009.

Throughout the entire process, residents and key stakeholders have been consulted and kept informed by letter, website updates, road shows and the stakeholder and resident newsletters.

The original intention was to complete the transfer on 29^th November 2009. However, certain aspects of the conveyancing process took longer than anticipated and the decision was taken to postpone until the New Year 2010.

We are now pleased to confirm that the transfer took place on 1^st February 2010.

Signpost Housing Association has transferred homes in Poole, Christchurch, Bournemouth, East Dorset and Salisbury to Western Challenge Housing Association.

Western Challenge has transferred their homes in North Dorset, South Somerset and West Dorset to Signpost Housing Association.

The residents directly involved in the transfer have been kept fully informed throughout the process and have been provided with information packs to assist them in getting to know their new landlord and the services they can expect to receive.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome the residents that have transferred to Signpost from Western Challenge.

In the weeks since that initial letter was sent we have focussed our attentions on ascertaining the residents views about the transfer. All residents were given the opportunity to feedback their views and ask questions via comment sheets, personal visits, by phone and e-mail. A series of road-show events were also held. Residents were invited to attend these road-shows to find out more about the proposed transfer of their home.

At the end of the consultation period we collated all of the comments and questions received and made an overall response to the residents. Residents have also been informed that the transfer of properties between Western Challenge Housing Association and Signpost Housing Association will go ahead.

Revised Date for Transfer

We originally expected the transfer to be completed by 31st December 2009. However, some aspects of the conveyancing process took longer than we anticipated and we agreed to postpone the transfer until the New Year.

A revised target date to complete the transfer has now been set for 1st February 2010
