Sale and Transfer of Property
Following a full consultation with residents, the Spectrum
Housing Group was formed on 1 July 2007 by a merger of the
Spinnaker and Signpost Housing Groups. Spectrum Housing Group
includes Signpost Housing Association, Signpost Care Partnerships
and Western Challenge Housing Association (hereafter referred to as
the Associations).
Like other housing associations across the
country, one of our main objectives is to improve the services
received by our residents by delivering local and accessible
services. Where possible we have aimed to do this by transferring
property between the Associations so that all the
property in any one area is served by the same association and that
association is the one best placed to provide local and
accessible services. Due to the geographical location of some
property, the Associations are unable to offer some
residents with the same high quality service that it provides
to residents in property closer to our main areas of operation.
Consequently, the Associations have decided to sell some
of the property it owns in outlying areas to a housing
association that operates closer to those properties.
The first step in achieving this objective was
taken in April 2008 with the transfer of properties in Devon from
Western Challenge to Signpost Housing Association, done in full
consultation with residents. This process was
repeated in 2009 when Western Challenge transferred the
ownership of properties in Worcestershire to a locally based
Housing Association. Earlier this year, we successfully transferred
property from Signpost Housing Association to Western Challenge
Housing Association in Poole, Christchurch, Bournemouth, East
Dorset and Salisbury. At the same time, Western
Challenge transferred their homes in North Dorset, South
Somerset and West Dorset to Signpost Housing Association.
We have now commenced the next phase of
property transfers and sales and this section of the website is
dedicated to this project. Signpost Housing Association are
managing the sale and transfer process on behalf of Signpost Care
Partnerships, Western Challenge Housing Association and themselves.
