Background Information
Signpost Housing Association and Signpost Care Partnerships are
collectively known as Spectrum Signpost. Spectrum
Signpost works closely with other companies of Spectrum Housing
Group.
Signpost Housing Association
Signpost Housing Association was established in 1990 following
the purchase of North Dorset District Council's housing stock.
Signpost Housing Association now owns and manages over 5,000 homes
throughout Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
Our homes are mainly general needs rented housing and includes
600 sheltered units for older people. More recently we have been
developing a diverse portfolio, which includes the management of
student, key worker and market-rented housing.
We work in partnership with local authorities, other housing
associations, local communities, voluntary and statutory
agencies.
Signpost Care Partnerships
Established in 1999, Signpost Care Partnerships helps vulnerable
people by providing a range of housing and support services.
Signpost Care Partnerships provides accommodation for a range of
vulnerable people, including: adults with mental health needs,
learning difficulties or physical disabilities; homeless people;
rough sleepers; vulnerable young adults; ex-offenders; and women
escaping domestic violence.
In addition, Signpost Care Partnerships delivers support to
older people living in sheltered units, the private sector or their
own homes.
Spectrum Housing Group
In 2007, Signpost Housing Group merged with Spinnaker Housing
Group to form Spectrum Housing Group.
Within Spectrum there are 18,000 homes under ownership and
management. Spectrum’s aim is to be recognised and respected for
providing quality homes and housing services, and will achieve this
by empowering people, supporting active communities and building
better futures.
As part of Spectrum our objective is to run the Group as a
business but we do not trade for profit. We plan to make surplus
income each year but this is all re-invested in the work of the
subsidiaries to maintain existing homes and help finance the
building of new ones.
