Tenants Responsibility

Tenants of Signpost Housing Association properties are responsible under their Tenancy Agreement and Landlord Requirements for the following repairs and upkeep of their property:

• The decoration of all internal parts of the property.
• The sweeping of chimneys
• Keeping the garden in a tidy condition
• Keeping sink and rainwater gullies clean and do nothing to block toilet drains and waste pipes.
• Immediately report to the landlord any defects or disrepair in the structure or exterior of the property
• Repair any damage caused by neglect, carelessness or willfulness of the tenant, relatives or visitors
• Supplying and fitting curtain tracks
• Repair and replacement of toilet seats
• Provision or repair of washing lines except communal
• Provision or repair of television, radio aerials and telephone points except communal
• Request permission for erecting a satellite dish
• Eradication and control of pests
• Glazing to the property

Tenants must allow access to properties for repairs and annual servicing of domestic heaters to be carried out.
